Dad admits raping daughter, bestiality

An Edmonton-area man who repeatedly raped his daughter and had sex with her dogs and a horse will have a hearing to decide how long he should be behind bars.
The bigger question is how the twisted pervert was allowed to live at home with the victim and her two sisters after having already been convicted and jailed for sexually assaulting the young girl and other children.
PLEADED GUILTY
Yesterday, the 53-year-old man pleaded guilty to committing incest and sexually assaulting his daughter over a 14-year period, from when she was seven until she was 21.
He also pleaded guilty to committing bestiality with dogs and a horse over a nearly 16-year period, forcing his daughter to commit bestiality with a dog and trying to get the victim's younger sister to sexually touch him.
The man, who cannot be named under a publication ban protecting the victim's identity, was ordered sent to Alberta Hospital for a 60-day psychiatric assessment so the Crown can proceed with a hearing to have him declared either a dangerous offender or a long-term offender.
As her short, pot-bellied, grey-haired father was led away by a court sheriff, the 23-year-old victim began crying and left the courtroom with tears streaming down her face.
According to agreed facts, the man and his hearing- impaired wife have three daughters, of which the victim is the oldest, who lived with them since they were born.
However, there were two times in the early 1990s when the father did not reside with the family. That was when he was convicted of sexually assaulting the daughter and other children and sentenced to nine months in jail.
The sentence was increased to two years on appeal.
After being released, the man was allowed to live with his family in a trailer on their Wabamun acreage. On his second day out, he raped his then-eight-year-old daughter, an event which occurred almost nightly for the next 14 years.
Court heard the victim tried several times to tell her mother what was going on, but then always denied it out of fear when her mother confronted her father.
Later, the man would threaten that if she told, she would break the family apart and they would have no money, and say "you don't want this to happen to your sisters."
Court heard the man regularly showed pornographic movies to the victim and her younger sister and once tried to get the younger girl to touch him sexually after showing her naked pictures of women on the computer.
According to the agreed facts, the man used to beat the household cats and dogs and the victim estimated 26 cats and four dogs were buried on their property.
As well, he always owned female dogs and had sex with them all. "If the dogs would not have sex, he would beat them with chains or bats. He would choke the dogs to try and get what he needed. If the animals would not have sex with him, the animal would end up dead."
The victim says she regularly witnessed her father having sex with their dogs and her horse, Princess. Her younger sister also saw him having sex with the family dog, Kila.
GOT A NEW DOG
In 2002, the family moved to a trailer park near Spruce Grove and the then-18-year-old victim got a new dog, a male chocolate Labrador named Kit-Kit.
On one occasion, the father raped his daughter and then tried to make her have sex with the dog. Court heard she began crying hysterically and the dog almost bit him.
The victim was last raped in August 2003, but continued to live at home over concern for her sisters' safety.
In April 2005 she moved out and in August that year she arranged for her mother and sisters to leave while her father was at work. The next day they went to the RCMP.
He was arrested and appeared in court on Aug. 24, 2005 and has been in custody ever since.
