My kinda guy. He gets it. Where's the ACLU to protect his civil rights?

A homeowner in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood has been ordered by the city to remove or change a sign in his front yard.

Jeff Hohreiter received a letter from the zoning inspector Saturday saying the sign, located at 4851 N. Illinois St., was too large for a public right-of-way.

If it's not removed, Hohreiter could be fined $2,500 for each day the sign remains in place, according to the letter.

Hohreiter's sign reads, "We own nothing ... We rent from a corrupt and inept government. Abolish property taxes!"

Hohreiter said the sign has been up since June, but nothing was said until he placed political campaign signs for Republican mayoral candidate Greg Jordan.

"I don't see that if it's been sitting out there for six months, and they couldn't find it for six months, and now all the sudden it's too big. It doesn't make any sense to me," Hohreiter said.

Hohreiter said he'll make his sign smaller in order to comply with the city ordinance, but he said he's been in contact with his lawyer about the case.

id like to know if it was his property or the cities cause im getting its his own property. in that case he should be allowed to keep the sign on his lawn
