ahn jung-hwan, scorer of the golden goal that put italy out of the 2002 world cup, has been sacked by his italian club perugia.

the perugia president said that he had insulted italian football and the hand that fed him.

sounds like a sore loser to me.... :p

:D
He learnt very well how to play football.

I guess that Italy now will have to pay him for a contract cancelled, so better for him, he will earn money from the Italians without playing.

Thats pathetic. The epitome of bad sportsmanship. Repsials are cowardice. I remember a Columbian defenseman who was killed after the last World Cup when he did a passback to his open goal and scored one for the opposition.

I think South Korea should expel the Italian ambassador for the Italians being a stain against all of football honor.

i remember the colombian thing, the defender's name was escobar i think. it was quite shocking at the time.

Yeah, i remember the colombian too, yesterday my sis were talking about the korean and then she mentioned too the colombian.

It was on USA 94, if i'm not mistaken.

That's a shame. I supported Italy, now I think it's better they had lost. Personally I would have pride in having a player that honors the shirt he wears. Be it of my club or his country's team. He's probably going to be paid for not playing. And will get a job in a waaaay better club than Peruggia...

it appears that perugia have had a change of heart and decided to keep him. it seems that looking like stupid bastits has made them unpopular :D

they are also looking at the japan and arsenal midfielder, inamoto, who impressed for the host nation.
