About 50,000 South Koreans have rallied in the capital Seoul in protest over the deaths of two teenage girls killed by US servicemen in a road accident.

Several thousand riot police prevented the protesters from marching on the US embassy.

The BBC's Caroline Gluck, in Seoul, says it was the largest demonstration since the two soldiers, whose armoured vehicle hit the girls, were acquitted of negligent homicide by a US military court last month.

Jerrek, US approval in South Korea?......i think not

That place is a waste of time and resources. I think we should pull completely outta there and let the South Koreans worry about themselves. I'm tired of guarding someone else's borders. Let em' do it for themselves.

If you care to read what I wrote... Ask the Koreans 5 years after the war. The younger generation did not have the fear of communism looming over them ok? See who is protesting?

They've had since the 50's to build up their Armed Forces. If they can't protect themselves now, screw em'. I'm tired of wasting my tax dollars on all these foreign adventures.

What is 50,000 a majority in South Korea?
Even small US cities have protests larger than that. Does that mean that the US population is anti US? I think not.

No matter what country the US is involved in, it seems that the students are against us. Notice, I said students. Students do not make a majority in any of those countries, nor do they pose a serious threat to anybody's national policy...including their own. Even here in the US, quite a few students are anti military, so what's the big deal? Until they actually see something beyond their own idealistic world, there will always be those who think just that way.
