Staten Island Ferry

man, that's awful...
I know. This morning I heard that the captain tried to commit suicide (failed), and is now in the hospital. Several passengers also had limbs amputated - I don't know, it just shocked me that something as simple and seemingly solid as those ferry's would have such a horrible accident. I imagine it could have been worse though.... :(

It really is quite sad. So many lives lost because someone fell asleep. Can you imagine what the families must be thinking?! You get up in the morning, get onto the ferry in order to get to work etc, and you don't come out alive. They interviewed a guy who survived, but he had someone die in his arms. You can never forget something like that. This is why you have to live each day to the fullest, because you never know what can happen tomorrow.

Isn't that the truth? Tell the people you love how you feel, you never know when it may be your last opportunity.
I am finally putting that idea into practice....

this was pretty bad and i just saw someone on the news comparing it to the titanic disaster! which has left me feeling not so bad about it all, cause that was far worse, these people on the ferry who survived escaped pretty well and maybe now will live better lives and make the most of everyday, it's pity we can't all feel that at some stage in our life. it's strange how it sometimes takes a disaster to spur you into action.
