I told you Ohio wwas fucked up. Another reason to avoid it, especially Mansfield.

A Mansfield, Ohio, woman was arrested and jailed for failure to file a 2001 city income tax bill totaling 96 cents.

Markeeta Gould, 26, earned $55 that year, working part-time as a nurse's aide. She says when she received a letter from the Income Tax Division of the city finance director's office last year about missed filing, she explained the situation to a city employee who told her not to bother with the trifling amount.

"She said, 'If you only made $55, we won't worry about it,' " Gould told the Mansfield News Journal

Finance Director Sandra Converse told the paper the city has a mandatory income tax return filing requirement for working-age residents – whether they earned income or not.

shhhh...let them keep thinking they have fewer and lower taxes...it's so cute!
And to be arrested for it too.Hell ,I haven't filed Federally for 2001 and 2002 ,but I have for 2003 and 2004. :evilcool:

I do it every year to get my refund/baby bonus, but there's no law making me do it.

So Canada doesn't enforce it's tax laws Hmmm

Yeah right!
You have 3yrs where they let you go then they send a letter requesting a return, but as for "city" income tax ,there is no such thing :evilcool: My 01/02"federal" returns are being done now and will be efiled as soon as ready,so I don't have to worry for awhile agsin.

If you think thats bad, you should see the breakdown for fuel taxes. Theres a dozen things on the list of who gets a slice of the pie. I think half of 'em are made up.

The jist down here is that you need to present the finished math showing how you came by not owing... just so some IRS coder can do the math a second time behind you to make sure that you wern't telling a fib. That way they can penalize you to hell and back if they catch a misstep... and considering how many thousands of pages the tax law is; with its 100s of contradictions, the rule of thumb is that the taxpayer can always be found wrong. So... the lesson... don't fuck with the government because the they can always use the IRS to strip you of everything you have and bury you under the prison.

Yeah like that "universal service charge fee". I think theres a think tank somewhere getting paid seven figures to come up with realistic sounding names for new fees the telephone company can impose on us.
