SunJava Trojan Question

I had Avast running, and ZA, went to a site, and picked up Java Bytera.A somehow.

It killed Avast, Firefox and Thunderbird . Avast told me it was there, didn't do shit about it, then died. I went and got PC-Cillin, ran it, it was able to kill some of the stuff but not all.

I have a list of the files...but they're similar to actual filenames with huge codes and I'm scared I'll wreck something. I'm wondering if I just uninstall SunJava will that get rid of it or will it lurk still? System Restore is off atm.

I *think* Panda got it.

:blank:
all told I had a good 18 files from that one site. woweeeeee.

Les, get AVG, seriously....I used to use PC-Cillin and thought I had got everything with it.....then I got AVG, ran it and it found like 8 things that it OR avast hadnt found

I've done that now. I had gotten rid of it because it was making my system slow, using a lot of resources, something like the way Norton used to do. Seems a bit better this time.

7.0.289, I guess it's the newest?

Free one. If I could pay I'd have Norton :D

I do on all my comps, and suggest it to customers.
IMHO norton sux.
(AV that is. I like the system works ok)
as long as it hasn't been installed over a network, then it's a real bitch
if you have to uninstall, or fix/update it.
