WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled for the first time Monday that a death row inmate can pursue a last-ditch claim that lethal injection is unconstitutionally cruel.

In a rare unanimous decision on a capital punishment case, justices sided with a convicted Alabama killer who claims his veins are so damaged from drug abuse that executioners might have to cut deeply into his flesh to administer the deadly drugs.

I say drag him outside
and give him what for in front of a firing squad!

I Think we have some judges that are wacky!

But you might hurt the guy that was sentenced to death?

I'm sure the folks he hurt in that crime he committed
wouldn't want him to be hurt in such a hurtful way

My question for thirty years has been, "If it's not cruel and unusual, how is it punishment?"

My question: Why do they clean the injection site on the inmate's arm with rubbing alcohol before inserting the needle?

Brings to mind the film The Life of David Gale. That one will make you stop and think.
