Why is blackmail illegal? Reading the story about SA being pissed at us & claiming we're blackmailing them, as well as many other stories, makes we wonder. Don't you have to do something wrong in order to get into a position to be blackmailed (give me $500. or I tell your wife you were fucking around...cover for me this week or I tell the boss you have been drinking your lunch) Seems like go old fashioned common sense to me.
