Terrorist action seems to be expanding.

Just a note:
Terrorist action seems to be expanding. I get the feeling the Arab extremists of the world know that their time is coming. I really believe we're going to start seeing more and more of what happened in the Philipeans the other day. When we go into iraq the pressure is really going to reach the boiling point.
Just look at the lead stories at the BBC website.

some analysts here have been saying that the focus on iraq [not really part of teh war on terrorism directly, more a peripheral action] gives the appearance that the war on terrorism itself has been slowed down on.

I don't believe it. The us focus has been temporarily diverted but many other countries like the Phillipeans for example are really trying to crack down as they know they have full us support. Plus, i believe these countries tend to see things a little more clearly than the US does having been hot spots for so long. The war on terrorism is a global effort not a US one. The US is mearly attempting to take care of the worlds largest threats first. It may be difficult to directly link Iraq with 9/11 but there can be no doubt that if you wish to rid the world of terrorism, one must deal with states such as Iraq.
