He was nominated by a largely democrat crossover vote. Once the good choices were removed, we tried to do the same, and nominate Mrs Bill. It was too late.

Ignoring that Gallup isn't anything I'd ever put trust in, most people, even left of centre tend to consider themselves as 'less than radical'. Ignoring that, the simple fact is that most people will tend to identify themselves as against whatever gov't is in power. Humans are contrary animals, who like to have something to bitch about.

a leader in power with a high popularity rating is either doing something really wrong, or a dictator who controls the numbers.

that's the obvious incarnation of an ideology that has its foundations in mental sloth.

too bad things aren't what they used to be, in the golden age, when men were men, an honest day's work meant something, none of them uppity (*insert name of whatever you wanna*) were telling us what to do, blah blah blah...

In 5,566 interviews with registered voters conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press during the first two months of 2008, 36% identify themselves as Democrats, and just 27% as Republicans.

The share of voters who call themselves Republicans has declined by six points since 2004, and represents, on an annualized basis, the lowest percentage of self-identified Republican voters in 16 years of polling by the Center.

The Democratic Party has also built a substantial edge among independent voters. Of the 37% who claim no party identification, 15% lean Democratic, 10% lean Republican, and 12% have no leaning either way.

At the same time, more Americans nationwide are saying this year that they are conservative than have made that claim in any of the last four years.

According to new data released by Gallup on Friday, conservatives outnumber liberals in all 50 states--including President Obama’s home state of Illinois--even though Democrats have a significant advantage over Republicans in party identification in 30 states.

Nah...the people voted for change without a clue as to what that change would actually be. It is, in a nutshell, politics as usual. They forgot that changing the President doesn't change squat. You have to change the majority all elected officials in order to affect change. There's your mental slothiness, right there...

That map refers to party affiliation within the first 6 months of the year. About the same time Hussein's approval ratings started to decline. I wonder what that map will look like at the end of the year. :brow:

Since the republicans ratings are on the decline it'll probably be more blue.

right... once again everybody else is a bunch of ignorant weenies but YOU really get it. :hmm:

i'm pretty sure that everyone that i know that didn't vote for the old guy and barbie ticket knew pretty well what they were voting for, particularly the parts they didn't like, and are still cringing at those ugly parts now despite having a general confidence in the current president as an intelligent, reasonable person.
