Pope John Paul II’s Toronto, World Youth Day itinerary:

Tuesday, July 23:
1pm: The Pope arrives at Pearson
2pm: He will fly, via helicopter, to Strawberry Island on Lake Simcoe for a short vacation.

Thursday, July 25:
5pm: The Pope makes a 90-minute official welcome at Exhibition Place. He also plans to ride the Popemobile through the World Youth Day crowd.

Friday, July 26:
7:30-10:30pm – Way of the Cross goes from city hall, up University Ave., to Royal Ontario Museum.

Saturday, July 27
9 am to 12pm – Pope will be at St. Joseph’s Morrow Park in North York where he will hold audiences for various politicians.

7:30-9pm – Pope arrives at Downsview Park and rides Popemobile through the crowd. A procession and vigil will follow.

Sunday, July 28:
8:45am – Pope arrives and will tour the Downsview Park site and the crowd.

9:30am to noon – Papal mass begins at Downsview Park. This is the only event that is open to the public. A million people are expected to attend.

Monday, July 29:
11am – Pope leaves Toronto from Pearson and makes his way to Guatemala.

Toronto has been doing a lot of preparation, as traffic will be a nightmare, as well as beautification.
 
All the major hospitals on the travel routes go on high alert as soon as he get's within radius.
 
They just said on the news that there are medical personnel on the helicopter with him. :ek: WOW!
 
I heard on the radio that while he is vacationing they will have the most technologically advanced equipment to preven mosquitos all over the island. Let's hope the machines aren't running windows or he's doomed! ;)
 
Chretien is the only person I know with two second languages and no first language.

I'm NOT going into Toronto this week. I have no wish to see the pope or get a kiss from him. And this World Youth Day is full of shit.
 
Why do we need a World Youth Day? For the Catholics to get more boys into one place at once? What is the purpose of this day? Just more socialist days of doing nothing. I don't give a shit for grandparents day (I don't need the government to regulate a special day for my grandparents), environment day, and recently Father's Day and Mother's Day. It is JUST MONEY MAKING SCHEMES. If someone needs these special days to remember something, he has serious problems.
 
i believe he made the trip all over to the continent just to make his visit to Mexico, he will declare Juan Diego as a Saint.
