There are speeders, and then there are Fresno speeders

Speeders on Herndon Avenue continue to keep Fresno police traffic officers busy, prompting a warning Tuesday to motorists to slow down and obey the posted speed limits.

"It's scary out there," said Sgt. Eric Eide. Eide mentioned a motorist who was cited about 8 a.m. Tuesday allegedly driving 90 mph on Herndon near Blythe in northwest Fresno. "That's over 40 mph over the speed limit," said Eide.

The driver, Mohommad Husaini, 24, of Fresno, reportedly told officers he was in a hurry because he had to be in traffic court at 8:30 a.m. to appear on a prior recent citation for allegedly going 80 mph, said Eide. Not only are speeders breaking the law, but they are putting the public in danger, said Eide.

The so-called Herndon Corridor, however, is not the only problem area in the city, Eide said. A few weeks ago during heavy fog, a motorist was cited for allegedly going 85 mph on East Shaw Avenue near California State University, Fresno, he said.

He should move here. On some of the highways he'd get ticketed for interfering with the flow of traffic :tardbang:

Same here in Atlanta. If you are going under 85, you should have a ramp on the back of your car to allow traffic to flow over you.

Ah, OK. The article referenced a surface street that's fairly lightly traveled in that particular area. That's where it goes down from four lanes to two... while most of the heavily traveled area is six lanes.

Theres also the problem with Atlanta being at the tail fringe of the Appalachian piedmont. That makes for some rolling terrain. Also, the city grew in the organic fashion. There just aren't too many places to 'bust ya move' on.

i guess my truck would be perfect for Atlanta since the only time im ddoing under 95 is when i spot a cop aroun a turn
