Tim Russert R.I.P.

It is always hard to lose someone who is liked and respected by everyone regardless of political stripe.

Russert collapsed and died today as he was recording voiceovers for Sunday's show. All of the networks sat on the story -- not only in deference to NBC, his network -- but because they were waiting for NBC to contact Russert's family who were in the air returning from Italy.

The world of journalism has lost a great man today; and my prayers go out to his family and imploring his God to welcome him into His kingdom with open arms.

In announcing the death of his friend, another consummate professional, Tom Brokaw was clearly shaken and his voice was a bit unsteady. How he did this without breaking down I have no idea.

this is too bad. i always liked russert. he asked everybody tough questions, but was always nice about it.
