So what? If we did that here, how well received do you think rape and drug abuse would be? Then again, we're "civilized" and "intellectually superior", and tolerate bad behavior until it gets so widespread we can legalize it...

I would welcome the mass execution of malcontents if I could beleive that the underlying system were somehow evenhanded. The cynic in me tells me that this pack of rapists are ... or were, rather a special group set aside to either punish a separist group either in politics, religion, or just a little distraction for the media in general.
