There was a time I gave praise for some of those people as artist, but art is not politics.

I it find condescending that a bunch of people that don't have High-school diplomas, live in a fantasy that came with their wealth and fame, would dare to pretend that they know more about the real world then those of us that have lived in the real world for most of our lives.

I will not be watching, I rescind any further effort to support their art, their mix of politics have ruined their art for me.

('specially the "boss", he sold out long ago)

Same here.
I've boycotted all of them already, um except Perl Jam.
I may now have to rethink my position on them.

My uncle once told me that if he let musicians' politics decide whether he would buy their albums, he would have a very small collection indeed. Those words seem more and more wise every day. I just tune these people out when they try to dictate their politics to me.

When they go beyond their music, when they use their clout to effect change on the common man that doesn't have the same access to publicity there is problem.

What qualifies people that live a privilaged rockstar life to understand or deem what happens in the real world. When was last time one of them had check the change bucket in their car to get some gas for their car?

They're underqualified with great access.

Well I don't live in the real world either so I will tune in and imagine I was kissing all of their asses at the same time.

Hear, fucking hear! :headbang:

Wow...what a boring list.

Try the US Festival for fun.

To those who are paying to see this event yet disagree with the politics of it, remember that all proceeds go to the Kerry for President/DNC fund, whether you like it or not.

Well not really, the first was far better then the 2nd (they were far better prepared for the 2nd ;) )

it was quite the muddy sweaty event, the 1st. I don't think I could handle it today, just too old.

The Vote for Change Tour, presented by MoveOn PAC, is a benefit for America Coming Together.

Over the past 10 days, more than 20 artists have united for single cause by playing 33 concerts in 11 battleground states. Tonight, they perform together on one stage for the first time.

About America Coming Together
ACT is the largest voter mobilization effort in history. With 86 field offices open everyday in 15 battleground states and over 4000 ACT staff on the ground – there is no greater force fighting to elect Democrats in 2004.

This year’s elections will be decided at the doorsteps of America – not by TV commercials and media pundits. This is where ACT is leading the way for Democrats. Last week alone, ACT’s paid canvassers logged a total of 50,000 hours meeting with targeted voters face-to-face.

With your help, between now and Election Day, ACT will:

Organize an army of 45,000 paid Election Day workers
Personally deliver over 11 million pieces of literature to targeted households
Make over 12 million phone calls to voters in the battleground states
Read more about ACT’s Election Day plans in an article from this weekend's Time Magazine.

Support ACT today
A contribution to ACT turns into Democratic votes on Election Day – period.

$1200 sponsors a GOTV staging area in a battleground state.
$136.68 rents a van to shuttle canvassers and voters on Election Day.
$75 puts another ACT canvasser on the street tomorrow.
Contribute today and get involved in our effort to elect Democrats in federal, state and local elections on November 2nd.

Contributions to ACT are not deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Paid for by America Coming Together (888 16th Street, NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20006),
and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

I did get in once...now I can't get back.
