It's been a while, so here goes:

1. What two countries share a "chunnel"?

2. Who played Bat Guano in Dr. Strangelove?

3. What was the code name for the site of the first atomic explosion?

4. How many times greater is the earth's gravitational pull than the moon's?

5. What region do the opponents come from who play against the U.S. Ryder Cup team?

6. What is the name of the first mate on the Pequod?

1. England and France

5. 6

6. I can only remember Ishmael, Queequeg and of course Ahab. None of them were first mate. Oh shit, wait, it's Starbuck, isn't it?

I should know the Dr. Strangelove one, but I can't remember.

I'm going to assume you meant six to be your answer for number 4, not 5. In that case, you got #1, 4, and 6 correct.

1. France and England

4. Six

6. Starbuck

History lesson: Little Boy was the name of the uranium-armed atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Fat Man was the name of the plutonium-armed atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki.

I can't recall the name of the site of the first test explosion in Nevada.

Those were the names for the two bombs...the code name for the New Mexico test (which was supposed to be the first blast, even though a bomb had secretly been sent to the pacific) was Trinity. The collective bugger up was the Manhattan Project.
