TV night

Thursday has always been tv night for me. Between at least Friends and ER since about 1995, I usually don't miss a Thursday 'Must See TV' night...

We used to get at least 10 people and at most, 30 people to sit and watch ER at my ambulance corps every Thursday night. We had a big living room and everyone would be all over the couches and the floor. We were a tough crowd, yelling at them whenever they did stuff like CPR because it's always so fake and lame looking on tv. rolleyes

Anyone else ever get together with other people to watch your favorite show or is it just me?[/code]

Nah. half of my friends have young kids and dont make it to 10 oclock anymmore. The other half find anything more than pro wrestling and the E True Hollywood Story to be all too highbrow. I am an island.

Well, I kinda mean did you ever. Not just now. I know my family always got together at night to watch Cheers and M*A*S*H but that was about all we had in common in terms of tv.

In my family we have programs that we watch together and ones we don't.
'Family' programs are usually:
- Popstars The Rivals (soon to be terrorizing America, I've no doubt).
- ER
- The West Wing

My programs are other things that I usually watch in my room. But that's only cos my puter's there, so I do both at the same time.
I like that whole familiy atmosphere, though, when we all sit down to watch something and have great fun taking the piss. :D

The only group thing for tv in the last 5 years was... sigh.. the pro rasslin thing. 4-5 chainsmokers and I in a small room gabbing away whilst the silliness danced upon the screen. I eventually gave up on it for the sake of sanity.

the wife and i only watch a few programs together that we really want to watch. currently:

dave gorman's important astrology experiment
league of gentlemen
coupling

league of gentlemen...hehe...did you see it just now? I only caught the last bit with the car accident. :D

all i watch these days are cartoons, comedy central, the simpsons, and the ocasional old school show like perfect strangers.

tv these days has really been disapointing :(

is the leauge of gentlemen really funny? i saw it once but i never got into it. heard it was good though. guess i never really gave it a chance casue it replace upright citizens brigade on comedy central. too bad nothing in america shows it anymore so i can't give it another chance. :(

all of these :( are depressing :( :( :(

it was pretty funny this week, the joke shop owner got an arm transplant that had an evil mind all of its own. some of the visual gags were best - a strip joint called flaps in your lap :D :D

some of the stuff in his shop is funny, comedy flowers that shoot acid :D

Oh yeah! I saw the bit where he was trying to chop off his arm :D

Flaps in your laps????

:yell:

I wish I watched it now. I was watching Father Ted - that's some funny shit too. It was the one with the over 75s football team. And the next episode is the classic one where he has to kick that vicar up the arse as a forfeit. :D

edit - THE OFFICE IS BACK!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEOOOWWWSSSAAA!!!

So The West Wing is pretty big over there? I find that interesting. I would have thought you had something like "West Buckingham, Behind the Scenes" or something as tasteless.

Was that an insult, PT??

Don't make me get out my bazooka and pulverize your sorry little ass.

No, it wasn't an insult. I find it odd that you guys watch a TV show about the American Presidency. I'm not a fan of West Wing, that was where the tasteless part came in, don't mean to dis your Queen.

it is wierd but then i think about it, i would probaly watch a show with the queen in it....oh and if they paid me eleventy billion dollars. oh and it would have to hilarious.

Oh don't worry, dis away... she can't hear you. I wasn't being serious btw :D That was a joke, I didn't take offence.
I don't know anything about American politics, but then that's what enables me to watch and enjoy The West Wing without picking up on it's possible incorrect depictions of real life. What I admire very much about the show is the script-writing, direction, acting and cast. It is very well written in terms of conversatinal dialog. One of the producers is the same one that has been making ER for the last god knows how many years - John Wells. Can't argue with the production skills.

Any show with the queen in it would immediately be hilarious anyway. :D

I could've sworn you were american, btw. Obviously not. :retard:

Well from now on you don't live in America, okay? You live in my own little fantasy world where I control everything, and my deluded assumptions about people are always correct.

:D
