Ahead of Thursday's presidential inauguration, Washington is locked down to an unprecedented degree, residents are inconvenienced and have to pass through numerous checkpoints in some areas, police officers are on every corner, portable stinger missile launchers have been placed throughout the city, federal employees are being encouraged not come to work, other residents are opting to leave town altogether...

I would be a little nervous with all of that firepower in town.

*looks up as a F-22 Raptor flies overhead*

I live 4 miles from the Lockheed plant where the Raptor is being built. Once you see it flying overhead a kajillion times it doesn't seem like all that much firepower.

...now the F-18 squadrons zipping about in diamond formations from the navy base... thats something else.

I'm sure Cheney will be far off on a circling plane somewhere with a few admirals in tow... just in case.

The main training base for the F-22 and the F-15 is Tyndall AFB in Panama City. They fly right past downtown over the bay as they come in on approach for landing, low and slow. It's awesome. I love to see formations come streaking in off the Gulf and bank hard to line up for the approach.

The F-22s in flight look like toy planes to me - not as intimidating as the F-15s.

BTW ,nice use of tax dollars ,I'm sure a "your President" spoken behind closed doors or on TV wouldn't be as spectacular during a time of war. :shrugs: *hey tg wasn't here to post it and I felt someone needed to.

Aw, man - I just got busted and reported by the company web blocker for clicking on that . . . I should know better than to click on a blind link.

Don't worry, all the network security guys do is sit around checking out all the websites the bad employees have been looking at. They won't tell anyone. Think of it like this, every time you view a "bad" website it's like a bonus for network security. :D

The network security guys are the reason the company installed the blocker in the first place . . . :rofl3:

It's not a big deal - they can tell I wasn't surfing for porn. I just need to get in the habit of checking links first before clicking. :nerd:
