War on Terror

The battle of Iraq is very much a masive part on the war on terror. The detractors of the battle of Iraq are playing into the enemies hands.

Sound familiar? Some of us have been spouting it for several years. Now, the enemy admits it & even tells us that the war on terror is accomplishing exactly what intended. They also freely admit that they wish Jane Fonda would tour their camps.

Now.

The terrorist situation never existed in Iraq prior to the US going in,so to now say "see we were right" ,because the Iraq situation has attracted them is ludicrous. The detractors say that there wasno reason to go into Iraq and there still wasn't ,the US created the instabilty that now exists with regard to the Terrorists activity.I'm not saying the Bad guys would leave if the US did, and that leaving would be a good idea ,but I disagree completely what "Some of us have been spouting it for several years." was ever correct even though it may be now.

You simply can't use a situation you've created to justify why you went in originally. :lol2:

So, now what the enemy tells you is the gospel truth? It never once occurred to you to question their motives, given that they were agreeing with you, did it?

So paying the family of a suicide bomber $20,000 isn't aiding and abetting terrorism?

Saying he was "going to" after the fact is strictly self serving propaganda and not support IMO.

And MO is exactly the opposite. Where does that leave us?

If you want to leave opinion and get into actual evidence, here ya go.

Saddam Hussein has paid out thousands of dollars to families of Palestinians killed in fighting with Israel.

Relatives of at least one suicide attacker as well as other militants and civilians gathered in a hall in Gaza City to receive cheques.

"Iraq and Palestine are in one trench. Saddam is a hero," read a banner over a picture of the Iraqi leader and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat at the ceremony.

If our intended goal in this age is the establishment of a caliphate in the manner of the Prophet and if we expect to establish its state predominantly--according to how it appears to us--
in the heart of the Islamic world, then your efforts and sacrifices-God permitting--are a large step directly towards that goal.

.....The mujahedeen must not have their mission end with the expulsion of the Americans from Iraq, and then lay down their weapons, and silence the fighting zeal. We will return to having the secularists and traitors holding sway over us. Instead, their ongoing mission is to establish an Islamic state, and defend it, and for every generation to hand over the banner to the one after it until the Hour of Resurrection. If the matter is thus, we must contemplate our affairs carefully, so that we are not robbed of the spoils, and our brothers did not die, so that others can reap the fruits of their labor.

Notice, nowhere in this plan does it mention any limitation on jihad to defense or any redress of some historic wrong or change in American policy.

The ultimate aim is Caliphate: Empire.

Wake up and smell the reality liberals.

Things may develop faster than we imagine. The aftermath of the collapse of American power in Vietnam---and how they ran and left their agents---is noteworthy. Because of that, we must be ready starting now, before events overtake us, and before we are surprised by the conspiracies of the Americans and the United Nations and their plans to fill the void behind them. We must take the initiative and impose a fait accompli upon our enemies, instead of the enemy imposing one on us, wherein our lot would be to merely resist their schemes.

He compares this to Vietnam and look what happened to Vietnam after we left. This is what the liberals want? Death, torture, imprisonment? An islamic state that will breed more terrorists and suicide bombers? Who will stop at nothing to secure nukes? Yeah right.

The Libbies would be happy to see us to lose this war, just so they can say "I told you so,".

Salman Pak/Al Salman was enough for me. The Palestinian dollars for lives scheme was just the cherry.

Pretty much the same things that went on while we were there.

Iraq doesn't compare to Viet Nam except that sooner or later the public at large will get tired of the cost.

I would have thought the bullshit people fed about it would compare only in the sense that both had bullshit around it and the dissonance people had to the government and war?

Oh, I believe there were several million more civilians during our stay than after it.

Nobody with any sense believed that story when it came out, let alone now.

We invaded Iraq because of all the WMD's they had which posed an immenent threat to our national security. Now that we found them the world is a safer place.

Bush planned on invading Iraq before he even became president. After 9/11 it became clear that we must hold Iraq responsible for what people in other countries did to us.

In order to better protect the country in the future massive efforts and monies were spent to put together an extremely effective Homeland Security team. This incredibly expensive system needed to be led by someone with real savvy, someone with horse show experience. Now that we've seen them in action we should all feel like America is a safer place.

We also clearly needed to crack down on all these crazy constitutional rights Americans had because it clearly wasn't very Patriotic to be walking around with all this freedom.

Who really needed freedom was the Iraqis. We've now established that Iraqi Freedom by killing them, blowing up their stuff, and raiding their homes at all hours of the day. They clearly want us there as only 75% of the people in Baghdad said they'd like us to "leave immediately".

Now that we've caught Bin Laden, the free Iraqis are all happy, got those WMDs, all cracked down on America's rights all on budget and with hardly any American soldiers getting hurt who could argue with profound effectiveness of this "War on Terror".
