Please be advised that this e-mail was not from Comcast. The link connects to a fraudulent Web site that has some components that may make it appear to be a legitimate Comcast Web site, including the Comcast logo and links to legitimate areas of www.comcast.com. The fraudulent site has spaces for entry of information, including credit card number, social security number, e-mail address and other personal data. Comcast never asks for password or credit card information via e-mail, as that information should be kept private.

Since discovering the illegitimate e-mail, the site has been removed and Comcast and law enforcement are taking appropriate actions to rectify the situation. If you had received this e-mail and provided any personal information you may want to notify your local law enforcement. If you provided credit card information, Comcast suggests that you also notify your credit card company and/or bank immediately.

There are Web sites that may provide you with additional information on how you can protect yourself. We suggest that you visit the consumer sections of any of the following sites: www.ftc.gov, www.calPIRG.org, www.bos.frb.org or www.consumer.gov/idtheft/.

At Comcast, helping to protect our customers is one of our highest priorities. Upon discovering this or any illegitimate e-mail or scam that may affect our customers, we quickly work to determine the origin, how many users could be affected and the best steps for action.

We thank you for taking the time to help ensure that your personal information is protected.

Sincerely,

Comcast Online

Just thought I should pass this along in case there are any comcast subscribers who weren't aware.

Had similar things with eBay before. You seriously wouldn't believe how easy it is to forge emails. The number of open relays that allow this is decreasing, but still. All it takes is one. Study the headers to make sure, and when in doubt, call 'em. Good save, Squiggs. :headbang:
