denmark 2-0 france

denmark take the group and set up a possible meeting with england, argentina or sweden with a win against a lacklustre france who end the tournament with one point and no goals scored. the current world and european champions leave wc2002 with a whimper.

senegal 3-3 uruguay

3-0 up at half time, one goal a highly dubious penalty that fifa will probably rule on in the coming days, senegal seemed to be coasting to the top of the group only to throw the lead, and almost the match, away to a spirited uruguay side.

Having not scored a single goal in the tournament, France take the very prestigious record of the worst performance ever by a defending Cup holder. No defending champion has EVER not scored a goal before.
