We suck

6PM (est) on Dec 7 and we haven't started a Pearl Harbor memorial thread. We (non-US types exempted) suck.

*raises one for grandpa the Marine... for storming the beaches of Guadalcanal.

CNN and Fox did, if only in passing. Next year will be an anniversary that ends with a 5, so it'll be more in-your-face.

I thought about starting one this morning but didn't want to steal the thunder of the self-righteous, self-proclaimed right wing of the board, so I didn't. That probably makes me unamerican, huh?

We had our flag out. I was waiting for the unAmerican leftists & so called moderates to get off their ass & do something. In the end, it took a right wing kook. ;)

Did anyone besides Homey and Gonz do anything? Around here there wasnt much, I may do something when I get home since DC has some things around it

I did something... OTOH, the most relevant and passionate mention of the date I heard all day was on ESPN. I find that more than a little disgusting.

Ny GrandDad tied a big red ribbon on the flagpole under the flag, up on the road.
The ribbon was about 4 inches, by 8 feet.

I am suprised since I would have thought the History Channel or TLC or Discovery would have done something more. ESPN is for sports. Thats rather sad in my view

Those channels specialize in WW2. No need for more. As far as the networks...it's not a special anniversary (divisible by 5 & especially divisible by 10)

My father and his co-workers call the History Channel the Nazi channel because it specialises in WWII. I do not think the others I mentioned did more with WWII than with other parts of history, A&E even does more with courts and evidence. But I can see your point with the special anniversary though it is still an anniversary, I would think they would have at the very least something on it
