What is this?!?

Although he is a pompous ass, he , at least, knows how to deal with the media. :grinyes:

I really don't think so, and that was the main part that I was referring to.
We need people in there that can keep their head better than that, and
answer the questions straight forward, instead of side-stepping, no matter
how weird/wild/ignorant... the question is.
He just stooped lower than the reporter IMO.

I actually found it refreshing. Some questions are, by nature, subjective, and should be treated as such. Any way he would've answered that question, he would've been wrong, IMO, so he answered it the best way he could. Example:

Answer 1: No, our female constituency is much more important than cock fighting, and I'm going to see to it that that bill is passed...

Next days headlines:

Representative Lindsay Graham supports the mutilation of chickens for gaming benefits...

Answer 2: This bill needs to be re-worded to show support to male victims of domestic violence as well as female...

Next days headlines:

Representative Lindsay Graham says wimps need help, too...

We both know the game the press has with conservative politicians. He refused to play that game, and, rightly so, called into question the reporters intelligence.

Sorry, Cato, but that was just an asshole reporter trying to stir shit.
Yeah, but if he'd been smart, he might have turned around on him, asking...
"Oh, Why, Is that what you think, that they are the same, or more important?"

eh, maybe you're right.
It just seems there was a better way to handle it somehow.
Somehow so it wouldn't have put himself in a bad light.

Although it is a typical example there for how stupid shit gets past, while
they filibuster more important issues, or dirty up a good bill with some bullshit.

Cato, have you ever read Mission:Earth, by Hubbard? You should. (it's a long read, tho. 10 big novels) It really puts reporters in focus.

I read that series...Every long, painful, sometimes inane, word. The deal with reporters creating their own stories, though, was a highlight. :lloyd:

nope, never read it. Did they make a movie about it. :D

Don't get me wrong. I'm not siding with either one of um.
I think they are both assholes. :p

I like the way Donald Rumsfeld handles situations like that.
He's really articulate, funny at times, and entertaining. ;)
