What the hell?

Ok, this guy was shot down on the first day of Gulf War 1. Now they think he lived through it, which is possible, and I applaude their efforts now to find out what happened to him, but this I just don't get.

Speicher was a lieutenant commander when he was shot down and has been promoted twice since then.

One promotion I could understand, but two?

Seems ridiculous, but he is still in service & those probably would've been typical promotions given his standing.

He was listed as KIA at the time, now he's moved to MIA, they don't know where he's been.
