If you can sum up a short, general answer that you think is more accurate give it to me in one sentence and i'll add it(or an mod can). Not sure how many options were allowed but let's see what happens. This could be an infinite number of answers so please try to be general in your answer.

To tell you the truth I'm far more worried about the situation at home at the moment:

I have to travel up to London with my daughter for a scheduled appointment with her cardiologist in two weeks time which can't be put off. Fortunately it's a physical impossibility for us to travel by tube as they're not accessible by wheelchair in central London, but the mainline train stations have been seen as legitimate targets by the IRA in the past. My hometown is also on "high alert" with constant disruptions as it's one of the main military bases in the UK. As you can imagine I'm feeling very, very stressed at the moment.

Outside of Baghdad, it'll be a cakewalk (relatively). Once in the main city, it'll so depend on the local populace & how well our PR campaign goes. If they truly understand that our desire is to boot saddam & not make a 51st state then it'll go easy. If they don't believe that or they actually like saddam  well, it could be one nasty fight.

Should it be easy, nobody in the region will do squat. If we have trouble, the entire region will bring rocks & bricks. Nobody, including the collective armies of all the countries combined, will be able to match the might & power of the US armed forces & whatever UN allies that assist them, if any.

Because I believe that this IS about oil, I don't think the US will allow a solution that leaves Sadam in place. I believe our overall objective is to install governments that are "oil friendly" to the US at whatever the cost. And it won't stop with Iraq....I hope I'm wrong.

I don't believe it is about oil. Drilling in protected areas of the US is about oil.

I think the conflict with Iraq is centered on the fear that Saddam will send people to the US to carry out attacks. Our country literally gives tons of money away each year. If Saddam knew how to get along with the US then he would riding the gravy train too. If he allowed people in his country to have freedoms and treated other countries with respect. I actually think Saddam is not that intelligent because he has a lot of power to influence the world and uses it to propage hate and violence. Saddam actually has the power to help the world instead of destroy it, but he only cares about himself.

:drink: WRONG

No, but seriously Squiggs, you WERE wrong....after all it's all about saving the children - haven't you seen the pics of the soldiers handing our flowers and singing with the children in the streets?

Oops, shit, no wait - that's a Michael Jackson video innit? Oh well, my bad

:D Yeah...And see if you can be a little more accurate this time...

This time?
I never voted on this.
<<< note the join date.;)
But my initial predictions were, and still are correct.
I've always said it would take a long time. Mainly because
of having to tiptoe around for as much political correctness as possible.

i said the first choice that it will resolve with Iraqs cooperation. although i would have said more attacks, i tihnk Iraq will comply with what America wants. if it doesnt then we will attack more.

:D freako, check the date on the thread. i bumped this because it was interesting to look at prewar positions on what might happen.....
