Jimmy, Robert, John Paul & John gone to Kingston with Elvis to party with Bob Marley?

Answer later...curious to see if anyone knows the answer

I love those guys. They used to play clubs in Tucson four or five times a year. Surreal.

I saw them at the old 9:30 club here years ago. quite a cool show. if you like Zep you wont be insulted at all. they really do rock.

But if you like them you might also check out Hayseed Dixie. Another bizarre fusion group. In this case blue grass meets speed metal. Blew me away completely. best banjoist ive ever seen or heard in my life.

*laugh* hey lets take over two threads now and talk DC night spots! *laugh*

Yeah it has that reputation (in the 80s they were more known as the punk hang out) but its really always been pretty eclectic. As long as its loud and/or rocking and/or outrageous. It was the first place I ever saw anyone stage dive. I thought they had lost their mind then suddenly you saw it happening EVERYwhere. I can remember seeing Green Day there when they were nobody. Then like a week later saw Screaming Jay Hawkins there. Yeah I know you kiddies have no idea who Im talking about….

Hayseed Dixie is a good call too, Thulsa. "The 'Highway to Hell' and that 'Lost Highway' Hank sang about are the same damned road." I've seen 'em twice in Nashville. I used to play guitar and sing part-time with a bluegrass band and we did the Cream song "White Room." We had a really good banjo player too, and a mandolin player from Finnland.

Awsome. I can see how White Room would lend itself to a blue grass translation. Ive always wanted to do a punk version of Midnight Confessions. Or maybe a celtic/punk version of Dance to the Music complete with bag pipes. :hairbng2:

~If theres a Rock & Roll heaven...then I'm sure they got a helluva band...~

Was it the Righteous Brothers?
