The UN can't win. :evilcool:

UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 16 — Iraq's foreign minister, Hoshyar Zebari, accused the United Nations Security Council today of having failed to help rescue his country from Saddam Hussein, and he chided member states for bickering over his beleaguered country's future.

"Settling scores with the United States-led coalition should not be at the cost of helping to bring stability to the Iraqi people," Mr. Zebari said in language unusually scolding for an occupant of the guest seat at the end of the curving Security Council table.

"Squabbling over political differences takes a back seat to the daily struggle for security, jobs, basic freedoms and all the rights the U.N. is chartered to uphold," he said.

Screw the UN..
Zebari is right and it's about time someone other than an American leader said so. Everyone is so busy taking pop shots at Bush that they refuse to acknowledge the UN's ineffectivness due to three of it's members.

Now those same three members think they should share in reconstruction contracts? They think they should have a say in the future of Iraq?

It's painfully obvious the three are only concerned with money which was why they were'nt concerned for Iraqi's a year ago making their opinions on iraq's future irrelevant. The UN is obsolete.

The UN needs a major overhaul, it's no longer able to do its job and I see it as a total joke... a money wasting, time consuming joke.

The real problem with the UN is that most of the member nations feel this way. You know, "Nice concept but we're going to do what the hell we want." I agree that it's a joke, but it might be possible to fix it. Might not too.

It would help if they actually backed up what they stood for. Even when they do it's 80% US troops & that needs to change.
