Why I'm scared of Republican leadership

I've been after dumping the Socialist Elite Democrats all year. They are dangerous to our way of life. They want to turn our capitalist society & all it's wonderous inventions & trappings into a mecca for the idiots. They wish the poor to run things & the rich to pay for it. Stupid, dangerous & bad for us.

HOWEVER, the Republican Nationalists have their moments too. While giving our money back, they tend to give our freedoms away too. As much as the party of the right says they want government out of our life, they always manage to pull crap like this:

NY Times said:
If the Homeland Security Act is not amended before passage, here is what will happen to you:

Every purchase you make with a credit card, every magazine subscription you buy and medical prescription you fill, every Web site you visit and e-mail you send or receive, every academic grade you receive, every bank deposit you make, every trip you book and every event you attend — all these transactions and communications will go into what the Defense Department describes as "a virtual, centralized grand database."

To this computerized dossier on your private life from commercial sources, add every piece of information that government has about you — passport application, driver's license and bridge toll records, judicial and divorce records, complaints from nosy neighbors to the F.B.I., your lifetime paper trail plus the latest hidden camera surveillance — and you have the supersnoop's dream: a "Total Information Awareness" about every U.S. citizen.

This is not some far-out Orwellian scenario. It is what will happen to your personal freedom in the next few weeks if John Poindexter gets the unprecedented power he seeks.

Detroit Free Press said:
Federal agents will begin randomly stopping traffic today, looking for illegal immigrants, terrorists and drug or weapon smugglers.

Cars will be stopped at unannounced, rotating checkpoints within Michigan, including metro Detroit. U.S. Border Patrol agents at the checkpoints will ask passengers their citizenship and will have leeway to ask a host of follow-up questions.

The effort is part of President George W. Bush's attempt to increase security along the northern border, said Immigration and Naturalization spokeswoman Karen Kraushaar.

Is there a leader or party that will not destroy?

Let me alone to live my life, take care of my family & go about my business, without interference.

Libertarians are the way, it seems. Until we get one in power.

In a word, no. Once someone gets power, the first thing they do is try to consolidate their power-base, and then it's only a matter of getting the 'little people' to fight over the crumbs.

For instance...Affirmative Action. I know it's a touchy subject for a few of us, but I'll explain my take.

When you hire someone based upon what they are, instead of who they are, you run the risk of cheapening your standards. Most minorities I know, and who I 'belong' to, haven't gained one iota from affirmative action. It's a crumb, thrown down to keep our attention away from what's really happening.

I'd love to read what the gov says about me. I bet it's not pretty.
