Tomorrow is my daughter's 18th birthday... the day she would have become an adult. I wrote this poem yesterday to put in a card on her grave and thought I'd share it with you all.
For Katie
So many tears have fallen
within these last few years,
I felt my heart was broken
nothing could heal the tears,
but somewhere in the darkness,
that mass of pain and sorrow,
a little voice was saying
"All will be well tomorrow."
For the memory of your grace,
your gentle loving heart,
has given me the strength,
to make a brand new start,
so although I cannot hug you
because we are apart
you live, my precious angel,
forever in my heart.
