Its 02:30 and I'm bored out of my skull. My wake/sleep cycle is out of whack, and I can't sleep.

Yes, and I must say, this place is friggin' weird.
Imagine the archetypical southern US small town, but pro-green, in the "all humans are a virus, global warming is going to end life on earth, any use of nuclear tech is inherently evil" sort of green.
And my oldest daughter is just about to turn 15.

Y'know .. I had a kind of epiphany last night. I was taking the dog for a walk. I put on my boots, coat, hat, scarf and gloves ... and on him, I put ... a leash. He's 6 inches tall and sniffs his own ass, but he's tougher than me. Talk about humbling.

So why'd you move to Tasmania?

Largely 'cause of my wife's mental illness.
Because of her BPD, she's burned a lot of bridges, and she has anxiety problems living in a city. My biological father has retired to Tassie, and he's a real help.
