Anyone know what to do to apply for disability?

My mom is going blind and can hardly walk. I'm not thinking about ssi but rather some type of disability status to help her get jobs reserved for the handicapped or better parking places.
Anyone know about this sort of thing?

Usually your doctor will give you a permit for handicap status, the state usually has a branch at the unemployment office that helps individuals with disabilities, forgot the name of it.

Also you should be able to get some disability from ssi check at their site, plus they have all the forms online for printing to get the ball rolling.

whatever it is, start now. if she follows the trend, she'll be turned down several times before final acceptance which means lots of appeals.

Regardless of where you are get help from someone who is experienced in filling in the forms as you can be turned down for not filling them in correctly.
