ok, so i'm looking at getting a cheapo IDE controller to make a fakeraid array. Most of the cheap controllers it seems are raid cards. i'm using the linux fakeraid drivers so i don't want to use the raid capabilities on the card, i just want an extra couple IDE channels. can I use both channels on the card without the raid turned on or do i need to find just a straight controller card?
