I'll spoil it. The singer (whose name I've forgotten) was trying to say, "in the Garden of Eden," but was too drunk to say it right.

I don't personally own it on vinyl... but I used a straight pin to fix a scratch on my uncle's copy (3:35 into the song) that ended up in my mom's vinyl collection.

i am not familiar with the song, nor have i heard the title before, really, nor have i ever seen this thread?
but saying "in-a-gadda-da-vida" in my head told me what it meant instantly. it was fairly clear to me that it meant "in the garden of eden".

well, just wanted to brag and be a smartass :)
