Thursday, laptop harddisk starts to make funny noises. I've had this laptop for 2 and a half years and this is the 2nd harddisk that dies. Since I don't want to leave the bank account with a small ammount I can not afford to buy a new laptop, so its new harddisk time.
Today, a lightning hit nearby the house, it looked and sounded like a few meters. Nothing melt, and all devices seemed to be working ok, until I turn on the puter. Long story short, ethernet port of the DSL modem, WAN ethernet port of the router and ethernet port of the switch have gone buh bye.
I'll see if the telco will give me a new modem, but i'll still have to buy another router. Any suggestions?
The wrt54g is nice, but it doesn't allow to fix an IP, so doing DMZ and portforwarding is a bitch.
