A thread like this pops up a couple of times a year, and since it's now me that is interested in buying one, I figured it might as well be me that started one.
I'm leaning towards the ~$300 range, figuring that is the sweet spot right now for pixel count, features, image quality, ease of use, cost, etc. Whadda ya think?
In that range, the Cannon A70 looks pretty nice. Anyone have any opinions on that model? Alternative suggestions?
I'm looking for something that I will feel comfortable using on a day to day basis to take snapshots of this and that, but has enough "oomph" to take the occasional important picture of a friend, chick, sunset, etc.
