Eating Up The Current

If you think trying to lose weight is a shock to your system, check this out. A New Jersey company is selling an Italian device designed to force your system to shed those pounds by using electric shock treatments. But to use it, you're really going to have to be committed: it involves minor surgery. The device is implanted near nerves in the stomach wall. It sends out a small electrical current 12 times a minute, which is supposed to help trick your system into thinking it's not hungry.

"This slows down peristalsis, the sequence of muscle contractions that force food along the digestive tract, so you won't feel hungry again quickly," according to New Scientist magazine. It also contracts muscles, restricting the amount of food that can reach your stomach. You can opt for a full diet of current or just a temporary one. The device can be left on permanently, or engaged only when the hunger binge-bug bites.

The gadget has apparently been tested on about 300 patients around the world, although there's no immediate word on how successful the early try-outs have been. Whatever the success rate, it certainly gives new meaning to the phrase 'power hungry'.

lazy unhealthy solutions.

Just eat properly and with variation. And on regular times, and get your fat ass moving for min. 30 minutes per day.

Unless the obesity is caused by genetic problems, if that's the deal, seak normal medical help.

But dumbass not-working solutions like this suck.

There are people out there in this world wishing they could have food ... and here are the "civilized" people gorging themselves and then wishing they weren't so fat.
