...I know it's in the wrong forum but...Is it possible to retrieve a word document you have been working on if you haven't saved it?

A collegue just accidently pressed control on XP Pro and lost her work.

Do a quick search for the .doc name (Word uses the first couple words as default Name).I've found Word will Autosave , check for a file created within the last 10min as it sometimes will call it temp$$ or something similar.

There is an option in word 2k, tools>options>save, that creates a backup copy....somewhere. I'd try doing a search on the entire drive. It may be there.

It also saves as a hidden file; I don't think Search will pick that up unless you have Windows set to show hidden files. It would be a good idea to set the autosave feature so that you know where that backup document is going to be when you need it.

look at the Temp folder for anything that has been saved in the last minutes...
