Rest in Peace – Susan Armstrong
Most of you don’t know her, or have ever heard of her, but yesterday this woman had a heart attack and died, leaving behind her family and the extended family that she created through the Missing Children’s Network.
She founded this non-profit organization in Montreal in 1985 following the abduction and murder of a 4-year-old boy. She and a friend worked out of the back of Susan’s car. Their efforts have grown into an organization which in collaboration with the RCMP, provincial and municipal police services as well as government authorities work together to locate missing children and return them safely to their families.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering, along with MrsBish, for this organization for close to 8 years now…and can think of no better cause for my time than bringing families back together again. It’s a noble effort, and one which Susan helped bring to new levels.
This woman had heart and the world’s a lesser place for her loss.
