I've been involved since I was probably 10. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts (I am an Eagle), Venture Crew, and Explorer (when there were Explorers). My brother and my dad are still very active in it, as am I when not at school/work.
Wish I had more time for it.
BSA is the american didision of Boy Scouts. Its an international thing. Do a search for World Jamboree to see some pretty cool stuff.
Good organization. I'd highly recommend anyone to join (no matter the gender).
Met some incredibly awesome people through Scouting. Unbelieveable. I've done gear testing for Coleman, taught at a scout camp for three years (my best friend taught there for six or seven years), helped DJ'ed dances and many other things I probably couldn't do without being involved in the Scouts. I could definately say I would be nowhere near where I'm at without my experience in the organization.
Lets just say three summers on your own at a summer camp with the staff is crazy as hell. You've never seen pranks until you become staff.
