And if the value of your house has plummeted recognize that
the housing market is being propped up.

What ever market value it has lost, times that by two
and you've got an idea what it's really worth.

I consume about the same.
That's what I'm told by some in the media, but I don't know anyone that still
has a job, and regular life that has had to really cut much.

I do know some businesses that are saving some to see what happens with the taxes though.

I am a bit shocked at some of the grief coming from the Right on this board. I would have thought many of you would be happy that the government is not increasing it's spending.

You want to help us get rid of SSA? Let's go. However, until then, it is & has been an expense promised to our seniors. They paid, the governemnt then moved their funds into the general fund & has since run it into the ground.

I'm not spending like I used to, not even close. Even though I've never been much of a consumer I've cut back a significant amount of my spending. I did, however, just take a trip to France. I did not buy new clothes other than 1 lightweight jacket and some toiletries. I used the everything I already had.
