The name of a natural arch in northern Utah is being changed to make it more culturally sensitive, according to the Standard-Examiner.

Chinaman's Arch, a natural limestone formation at the Golden Spike National Historic Site, is thought to be named for Chinese laborers who worked on area's railroads during the 1860s.

A group of Chinese-Americans have petitioned the U.S. Board of Geographic Names to rename the structure "Chinese Arch."

**end**

Next, we'll rename New York to avoid hurting the feelings of anyone with ancestors from York, thus no longervinferring that New York is superior to York.

I don't see why they need to change it. Its a historical marker with a historical name. The NAACP embraces their name. Tis silly.
