To Do List for the self-employed

1: Plant and grow more veggies, fruits and edibles than you ever have before. Share the surplus with or trade out with neighbors.
2: Get to know your neighbors, family and friends better. Bring up the idea of bartering goods and services that you used to pay for. There's no shame in it- worked for millenia before money was ever invented. Have fun with "haggling"
3: Do a little basic plumbing to route your "Gray water" from your kitchen sink to your garden. Rig a gutter and barrel system or cisterns to catch rainwater.
4: Clean out the junk and have a yard sale.
5: Do maintenance on your vehicle, house, property, and most of all yourself.
6: Spend some real quality time with those you care about, and get yourself some solitude as well. Give yourself the freedom to really think about the serious issues, but also time to just put it in neutral, relax and enjoy doing nothing from time to time.
7:Look into solar or wind power to make your own electricity. It's technical and has to be done right, but you're no dummy and there are plenty of people who will help, if you need assistance.
8: Sharpen your wit. Develop your sense of humor. Work on your comedic timing. Become a raconteur . Laughter is good medicine and social cement, as well.
9: Get plenty of physical excercise, but don't over-do it. Some times "rack time" is as important as "track time"
10: Treat yourself to a big, smug, grin because you are The Boss now. Enjoy the power!

A guy I know is like that. Non-freaking stop. Everything is an opportunity. This guy will do anything and everything, no hesitation. Doesn't know the meaning of downtime.

Yeah, Prof- you spoke of self-destructive people in another post. That sums up most of the people, unfortunately. When you meet one of those "everything is an opportunity" folks, they really stand out. Train yourself to survive, then bump it up a notch and learn how to thrive!
