I'm missing it. We need more or we have enough?

We needed more from the start. Closer to double what we had after major hostilities were declared over. We had a chance to do it right, but we ended up doing it half-assed. Since then, with the constant political bickering, we've accomplished bupkiss. We build up the infrastructure and a few days later, its in ruins again due to 'insurgents'. Why? Nobody left to guard it until it was safe. Why? Not enough boots on the ground.

technology?

Just wondering, couldn't some kind of secret surveillance be setup in a bunch
of places, and several people watching like 10-20 monitors/frames, to help
with the holding part.
And why didn't they do that?
Could have possibly saved lives.

Only since Jan.2007 has Bush had any sort of opposition, prior to that the Republicans had both Senate and Congress , Rumsfeld had autonomy over the Defense Dept and therefore Bush did whatever "he" pleased.

Sorry ,your correct, even to this day Bush refuses to believe that anybody other than himself makes up the rules for troops in Iraq.At least in his own little world he still has no opposition,so in the Real World its all his fault.:grinyes:

Since 2003, when Congress voted overwhelmingly for action in Iraq, there has been constant bickering in Congress (which controls the cash) over the 'war'. Its also been all over the media, and in the UN. Bush may be, ultimately, responsible for the mess, but he's not entirely to blame for the mess...

Section. 2.

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

It's even in writing.

I see that as a good thing.
Maybe they'll take out a big chunk of Iran next.

Israel breached agreements with the US over its use of the weapons

If Israel can't honor the agreements it makes with the US then we should ban sales of the weapons to them like Reagan did.

A congressional investigation found Israel improperly used US-made cluster bombs during its 1982 invasion of Lebanon. President Ronald Reagan's administration imposed a six-year ban on sales of the weapons to Israel.

So then according to the Constitution he doesn't have any opposition either.

Whats Gato on about then...
If he has sole authority why hasn't "he" done anything.

Because he's a politician.

In answer to your first-Nobody has immediate authority over his role as Commander in Chief. He makes decisions & must live or die by them. Opposition comes from virtually every large scale media outlet running non-stop anti-Bush propaganda blaming him for every mistake while overlooking all the progress or success.

Vietnam...we won every battle, yet lost the war. Power of the press over large scale mindset.

Virtually every large scale media outlet has been running non-stop Bush propaganda for years. People are wising up and the press can't sustain this level of BS without it coming crashing down.
