Vacuum cleaners and steam cleaners

My sister can attest to the condition (and colors) of the carpet in my previous apartment. If my sister can tell me that, in her opinion, I don't need to worry about trying to clean up spills and messes the instant they occur, then I'll consider it.

here w/3 kids, and 3 adults a person would be inclined to repair/replace/fix
things only when absolutly required.

The kids here are finally getting to the age where they aren't quite as destructive,
and I'v got a lot of catching up to do.

new imitation hardwood panel flooring for the kitchen/eating area.
inside painting of all the drywall walls, some wallpaper.
new carpet in several rooms.

That's just the inside, and wear related.
