While your having fun...........

I heard that apple were thinking about bringing the intel port of OSX out of the closet because of all this... they thought the market might open up enough to offset the loss in hardware revenue when everyone realises they can't play thier music or watch thier videos anymore...

bring it on if that's the case...

/me drools over titanium powerbooks...

(appologies for not trying to find the source)

By "It is envisaged that once the TCPA system is fully functioning, our PCs would quietly report to authorities any unauthorised content on our machines. PCs and other devices would also refuse to play content, such as a music CD, tied to another device, and may be instructed by a remote server to delete information from the owner's hard drive."

That completely fucks first amendment

<sarcasm>
Who cares about the first amendment anymore, I mean, it's like 300 years old and shit, my grandma is like 300 years old and i don't pay attention to her. Now that M$ has come out with tablet PCs they really need to get their butt in gear and get us all Telescreens

IDE:
Only the PIIX4 IDE controllers have been found to work.
Attached devices must be UDMA/33 compatible or better.
Ethernet:
Intel 8255x 10/100 ethernet controllers are supported.
Video:
You must have a VESA 2.0 compliant video card. Almost all
modern graphics cards are VESA 2.0 compliant. However, emulators
such as vmware do not have VESA 2.0 compliant emulated video cards.
Successfully tested hardware:
All 440BX motherboards tested have worked with their internal
IDE controllers.
IBM ThinkPad A21m (with onboard Intel ethernet)
Known to not be supported:
All AMD and VIA based systems.

so i can't install it on my desktop... and vmware won't work either... not gonna happen then

but, by the sound of it darwin itself isn't all that useful and FreeBSD would be a better thing to go with

yeah, i was thinking about the limited compatability too, my latop is a Thinkpad A22m, I wonder how compatable the two are? i suppose i could find out but that would require opening another browser window and i have more than i can handle already.

Is this a "I hate M$" thread or a "IBM ThinkPad Discussion" thread?

If you will look to the center at the top of the page, you will see the words OFF TOPIC CENTRAL. Read it, learn it, live it. ;)

Think about it. You pay a company for a program. You install the program. Now, it turns around and deletes itself. You have no choice in archieving it.

You download a document, but your can't view it because you didn't give the company your name, address, phone number, how many kids you have, what car you drive, what position your wife likes and how often she gives head.

This is what computers are coming to. Thanks not to Microsoft, Intel, AMD and the rest of incompentent developers they employ, but to the true socialists of this country. Your own congressman.

People in Germany and the rest of Europe are laughing their asses off at us because we allowed the fucking morons running this country to pass the DMCA in 1998. Now, feel the ramifications.

You have no rights.

Remember that. You the voter allowed it to happen.

You have no rights.

Do people actually listen to these people they vote for before they vote for them?

Alas, this is just the beginning. In fifty years after I'm dead, your children will be workers to the great Communist Party or whatever the hell they'll call it.

Maybe I'm just being really pessimistic, but if one thinks about it, democracy is long gone. It was gone long before anyone in here was even born. This country is setting itself up for the downfall. Probably a revolution first. Hopefully my kids won't see it, but I doubt it.
