Yesterday was the tenth anniversary of the car wreck that forever changed my life.

I've still got some deformities from it, but I'm alive, and would not be if it hadn't happened.

I'm very happy today, and grateful.:cool2:

I appreciate the internet, the boards, and All the people on them.
It's a bigger part of my life now.

Do you feel comfortable telling the story of the accident?
If not, no problem.
I've heard reference to it over the years, but never knew the whole story.

I don't remember much at all, from about a month prior.
I have hepatitis, and had been drinking for some time, and was in a bad bad place in my life.
The doc said I would have died in another week from drinking, had the wreck not have happened.

They had to cut me out of the car, so I'm told, and it didn't even resemble a car.
I had on my seatbelt, but the whole seat ripped loose.

They thought I'd loose my left foot, from where the brake pedal went through it,
but my mom ask if there might be the slightest chance to save it,
and a very good doc did. Got a 3" screw in it, and it doesn't pivot much,
but it's still there.
My right hip was crushed, and has 6 screws, and 2 straps, holding me together.
A great woman doc in Atl performed that surgery.

Other than that was some plastic surgery to my head, where it peeled back, and gave me a concussion.

Arthritis set in nearly immediately, and has worsened of the years, but
I do personal regular therapy do cores around here, and stretching, so
I can keep going some.

...
not sure what else...
questions?

It always puzzles me how different life would be had x did/didn't happen. I'm one of the few that didn't know your story as well cato, but I'm sure glad it happened for the best, it is far better than 6ft below.
