They've had a tribute on one of the radio stations going since this morning. Ok, he was shot, he was a good musician and all, but like you said, what's the big deal???

I got the same treatment Tuesday on Randy Rhoads' birthday.



While I most certainly acknowledge and respect the significant contributions The Beatles made to music and culture as a whole, I never considered myself all that big a fan of them. Some of their stuff's OK, but most just...didn't do it for me. I liked The Kinks better among the British Invasion chaps.

Of the solo careers, I most enjoy the stuff George Harrison released, but the only CD I have is the John Lennon Collection. Go figure.

Why couldn't the boob have shot Yoko instead?

Actually, he was a great song writer. But he never put more than 4 chords into a song. Now Paul, who's songs always sound like he was hitting acid while writing them, would wind up inventing new chords in the process.
