too early to raise a proper drink.. but I'll do it soon. :usa:

Thanks Unc. Didn't know if people were going to remember. I know it's emotionally closer to me than it is to many others here. But it doesn't prevent all of us from remembering the victims and heroes of that day.

My Rusty's perspective 9/11/01, while walking away from work, only a few blocks away from WTC:

I thank God that he and his Mom were able to get home safe to us, so many others were not that lucky.

Only four years yet it barely made a blip on the news shows... Katrina led the show :(

... give his moment of silence for the lost and their families.*

It was a clear fall morning when it started. American Airlines Flight 11 carrying 92 passengers crashed in to the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 am. United Airlines Flight 175 carrying 65 passengers crashed in to the South Tower of the World Trade Center 17 minutes later at 9:03 am. At 9:37 AM American Airlines Flight 77 carrying 64 passengers crashed in to the Pentagon. At 10:03 AM United Airlines Flight 93 carrying 45 passenger was prevented from reaching its intended Washington D.C. target when the passengers attempted to retake the jet from the terrorist scum. The plane was driven nose first into a field at 500 mph in Shanksville, PA. At 10:05 AM the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses. At 10:29 AM the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapses. In the end 2,986 lives were lost than day making it the single worst attack on the United States of America.

They began jumping not long after the first plane hit the North Tower

I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten?
How it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten?
When those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Have you forgotten?
How it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten?
When those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting for

Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yes, some went down like heroes
in that Pennsylvania field!
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
