$400 per gallon

Leave. Yep, good idea. Just like we did after the Soviet left. Look what happened there.

More troops is not the answer.
You are asking the wrong question.

There is absolutely no chance of turning Afghanistan
into a functioning state.

Do you honestly see the U.S. 'adopting' that country
for the next half century? The approach Boosh took was the right one
I bet you don't even know what that policy was do ya?

Here's a hint in the article I linked:

Afghanistan was a special operations playground for more than half a decade.

back that up Bub!

"By every measure, the United States spends more money on health care than any other industrialized country: nearly five thousand dollars per capita on health expenditures. The United States spends over two and a half times the average health expenditures of the 29 other nations in the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), adjusted for purchasing-power parity. The next largest spender on health is Switzerland at $3,288 per capita.

At the same time, the United States is lagging behind in the actual health of the population. Life expectancy is a standard measure used to compare health status across populations. In terms of life expectancy, the United States ranks 21st out of 30, with an average life expectancy of 77.1 years. This is 4.3 years behind the highest ranked nation."

Had we just built a few schools and supported the Afghans back then we would not be in this mess now. The teenagers growing up are being told that the Taliban fought off the Soviets without help and that the US has always been the enemy of Afghanistan. What a bunch of shit.
:hmm:

Why? Its only coffee. I had some, and the difference between Tim's and the dining hall is price. The only saving grace for the chain, at least here at Kandahar, is the semi-fresh Timbits that sometimes appear in the office where I work...

As for the cost of fuel here...without that fuel, we cannot cover the territory we need to fight the battles Congress has tasked us to fight. Would you rather we go on horseback, or on bicycles?
Donkey, actually.
a) it's a smoother ride
b) a donkey has no withers and the back is flat, it's like riding in a lazy boy chair ... very comfy
c) they take rocky terrain better than a horse
d) they require less maintenance than a horse
e) they come in larger sizes than you think (see American Mammoth Donkey)

These are not mules. Mules are a hybrid cross between a donkey jack and a horse mare.

Yeah, but that's private dollars...
... oh, wait... nevermind.

Yes, dollars spent on private healthcare in the US averages 2 and 1/2 times that of countries with some form of government system. Yet we get worse results.

Adding this to spike's message: money paid in taxes and money directly out of our pocket... it's still our money. ;) Think about it, y'all.

WTF does that have to do with Afghanistan?

Clearly I was totally wrong!
We must move immediately to
fully socialize the entire
American medical establishment before it’s too late!
Can you ever forgive me?

Well when we have completed the process
of socializing Amerika and fallen to pieces like
the former Soviet Union it will be a boon
to your country, all them folks
flooding across the border to get a Timmy Horton's coffee.

Making our medical system more effective and efficient will not make us fall to pieces like the Soviet Union. Far more likely that we'll just end up with healthier people.

woot!

$400 per gallon isn't enough!

I’d say they are doin’ a mighty fine job of
denying healthcare to those who can’t pay for it.
Keep up the good work!

Denmark...5.5M
Finland...5.25M
Netherlands...16M

The combined population is less than the greater NYC metro area.

Smaller areas are more likely to succeed in a socialist state. Their longevity, in such a state, is harder to predict.

Now Gronzo you know what happens when you attempt to
engage them in an intelligent debate.

don't it go something like...?

Has a distinguishable birthmark in her right eye; her other eye is hazel.
That should have read:
Has a disconcerting birthmark in her right eye; her other eye is hazel.

Is anyone else trying to like this show?
Tell me I'm not the only one irked by that gnome Linda Hunt?
